Walking the boardwalk is great, but be sure to do the shorter portion of the fairy trail to the Grand Prismatic Spring Overlook. The hot springs are gorgeous but there are so many people....makes it hard to enjoy it when everyone is taking a selfie. The view from the overlook is stunning. The view of the spring is beautiful. The extremely hot water teems with microscopic life, giving it the incredible colors. It's a much better view than the boardwalk. Can be very crowded, so get there early to get a parking spot. Easy, reasonable length trails. Seeing the Grand Prismatic Boardwalk. This is a MUST DO for anyone visiting the park. This hillside was once burned by a fire roughly 25 years ago, so many of the trees are dead and fall every year due to storms. There is no marked trail up the hill, but there is a well defined natural path made by the thousands that have ascended it before.
