Visitors can hitch ferry rides to Cumberland Island, partake in its many beautiful offerings, and return to enjoy the attractions at St. Marys as well. Tallest waterfall in North America!! Savannah, with its cobblestone streets lined by lush oaks and lavish Southern American-style mansions, is quite the beautiful city to explore. Macon is the right kind of laidback. It's a wonderful demonstration of the importance of loving everyone, no matter what. Drink in the World of Coca Cola - The World of Coke is one of the most popular attractions in Georgia. Explorations in Antiquity in LaGrange, GA is also a wonderful place. Always looking for outdoor activities to get away from the computer & idiot box (TV)… My 2 year old grandson will love many of these. Smith State Park is a gorgeous park to paddle the blackwater. This botanical garden is perched on the edge of sparkling Lake Chatuge in Hiawassee and features 1,100 different plants, including magnolias, dogwoods, wildflowers, and more than 400 varieties of rhododendron. (Just make sure to make a reservation way in advance!). Head to Providence Canyon State Park and you’ll understand - 45-m (150-ft) duo-toned canyons and wondrous geology galore! Or go hiking at Sandy Creek Nature Center or Birchmore Trail for a wonderful time in nature. There are tons of cabin options in this mountain town, and many of them work perfectly for extended family vacations. While hiking, sailing, fishing, boating, and sunbathing are a few of the many activities you can do here, do also take some time out to see the beautiful Tybee Lighthouse just a short distance from the beach. You have missed my favorite site in GA, but I can’t tell because I don’t want it overrun with tourists ! OMG! Known for the massive carving on its rock face (of Confederate soldiers from the Civil War), this park offers a famous summer laser show, a Skyride to the summit, a scenic railroad, hiking trails, and so much more. A Boat Tour of the Augusta Canal - Don't tell the kids they'll be learning some history...they'll never know because it's too much fun. Don't skip out without grabbing a pack of cinnamon rolls. While here, you can enjoy a picnic along the banks of Chattahoochee River or a refreshing hike up to Autrey Mill Nature Preserve and Heritage Centre. I know this is mostly outdoor trips and things, which is always wonderful…but you should really add two more to the list…the Indian Seats on top of Sawnee mountain in Cumming, GA, and there’s a creamery just outside of Cleveland, GA that every kid should visit once, for real, homemade ice cream, if nothing else. While camping, fishing, or boating across Lake Nottely is probably the best way to admire the area’s picturesque beauty, spending a night or two at Vogel State Park’s top-class cabins will be just as fabulous.
