This proved to be one of those situations in which an online recommendation actually led me and my family to something we otherwise would not have looked at. I am a big fan of anything supernatural, unexplainable, mysterious, or horrifying and this mini-series absolutely hooked me from the beginning and I wish that it would have been much longer than 6 hours. Maybe it's just too dated now (I'm reviewing this late 2015) but it just seemed like a wasted opportunity. And while the smart, beautiful Julianna Margulies seems cast adrift as Miller's bland love interest (and a member of the object-seeking underground), the story grows increasingly intriguing with the introduction of a wealthy father (Kevin Pollak) obsessed with curing his cancerous son with the objects; an unstable nebbish (Peter Jacobsen) who's been driven nearly mad by his visits to the lost room; a devious doctor (Dennis Christopher) who falls in with a group of religious zealots convinced that the lost room leads to God; and various supporting characters (including comedian/monologist Margaret Cho) and subplots that lead you to believe this is all leading to something fantastic. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.

It has a refreshing concept with the room where something unknown occurred leading to the items contained there to have a range of peculiar powers.
