The Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year 2021 is $3.9 billion — a $427 million, or 10% decrease from the Fiscal Year 2020 Adopted Budget. The city's police budget totals more than $566 million — a roughly 5% increase from the current fiscal year, due in part to increased benefits negotiated by city employee unions.
